How CoachMax grades

What CoachMax looks at, how it explains a score, and how fairness is protected.

Help Center · Rubrics and grading · For everyone

1. What it does

  1. CoachMax reads the learner's work and scores it against the published rubric for that assignment, one criterion at a time.
  2. Each score comes with quotes from the learner's own work as evidence, what they did well, what to improve, and a next step. Quotes are checked against the submission wherever the work is text.
  3. Each result shows how confident CoachMax is. Low-confidence results are held for a person.

2. Fairness

  1. Scores follow only your rubric, the same rubric for every learner.
  2. A learner's profile shapes the examples and next steps in their feedback, never their score.
  3. Text inside a submission can't instruct the grader: it's treated as work to assess, and attempts are flagged.
  4. Learner work is never used to train AI models.

3. People stay in charge

  1. Instructors can release a result, add their own feedback, or override the score with a written reason. Every override is recorded.
